split personality

Naaa, not really, just my plaster shell. Today a friend and I made this molding of my body, so I can finally have my own custom dress form.

I have never been a big fan of duct tape dress forms so my friend wrapped me in plaster bandages for over two hours. I really didn't expected this to endure so long, which automaticly resulted in me nearly fainting. My friend had just added the first layer of plaster on my front and wanted to start to go around the body to close my double when I decided to sit down, not really sit down, but more I needed to lay down.

I quickly recovered, but this little accident caused a lot of cracks and "wrinkles" in the halfdry plaster. I will need to fix that before I can start to fill the form with papier-mâché.

And for next tries I've learned two things

a) next time I won't do the procedure in one step, but start at shoulders and breast area, have a break and continue afterwards with waist and hips

b) it's a good idea to use a LOT of petrolatum (I recognized the shell nearly fell of off my body) AND I found myself in an very euphoric stadium afterwards for at least four hours . . .

Bin also kurzerhand fast ohnmächtig geworden.
